La Digue is the third largest inhabited island of the Seychelles in terms of population, and lying east of Praslin and west of Felicite Island.
Arriving at La Digue feels like sailing straight into a painting, brimming with brush strokes of blue, green and tan. The beaches here are spectacular, particularly Grand Anse and Anse Source d’Argent, which is strewn with pink granite rocks. There are very few cars here, so travelling by bike or by ox cart is the way to go.
The majority of visitors to La Digue arrive by boat at the quaint jetty at La Passe. Frequent ferries make the 15-minute crossing from Praslin. It is a popular, unspoilt destination for people wishing for a taste of the traditional Seychelles. Nowhere else is the water more transparent or the sand so white. Because of its diversity and beautiful beaches strewn with pink granite rocks, La Digue is perhaps the most mythical island in the Seychelles. If your time and budg4et does not allow for an overnight on La Dique, we recommend you do this as a day excursion. Please discuss this with your Travel designer.
Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie
Set high in lush tropical gardens and close to one of La Dique’s fine sandy beaches, Anse Severe, Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie is a cosy, private hideaway. Local architecture combine with the natural tropical hillside setting to make this a perfect Seychelles retreat for couples and families alike, as well as an amazing Seychelles Honeymoon. It’s only a 5 minute walk from the La Dique Island jetty. Access is by Ferrie from Mahe (60min) or Praslin (15min) or helicopter transfer from Mahe(20min)
The Hotel has a new all day dining area that offers a relaxing environment from which to enjoy glorious views and stunning sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Here, a wide choice of Mediterranean menus together with Asian and Creole cusine and home-made specialities are served. Combava Restaurant, meaning kaffir lime, is located on the upper deck and is an exquisitely designed roof terrace lounge serving a la carte food only. Santosha Restaurant offers a cosy atmosphere for alfresco dining and serves popular international cuisine and local Creole delicacies with a mix of live cooking and buffet-style service. Breakfast is also served here.
The swimming pool and terrace occupies an idyllic setting beside the sparkling ocean and with glorious views towards Praslin. It is also a very romantic location to sip cocktails from the adjacent infinity pool bar, Le Cipaye. Adjacent to the pool deck is a lovely new beach area where guests can soak up the sun as well as benefit from the hotel’s beach service including snacks and drinks delivery on request. Complimentary sun loungers, beach umbrellas and towels are provided by the hotel.
The Eden Rock Wellness Centre & Spa, is set high up at the back of the resort and is surrounded by giant granite boulders which offers fabulous ocean views. It provides an extensive range of spa treatments, a Hammam, hair dressing facilities and manicure services.
